Autumn Hues and Transitional Style

Autumn Hues and Transitional Style

As the seasons change, so does our wardrobe. Transitioning from the warmth of summer to the chill of autumn can be a challenge.  At The White Room we love curating capsule collections each season, where each piece complements the other, making it easy to create timeless yet stylish looks for the changing temperatures and occasions.

Layering is not only practical but also a super chic way of dressing. By adding cosy layers, you can add depth and dimension to your outfit while staying comfortable when the weather can’t quite make its mind up! Have fun with different textures, colours and lengths to create versatile looks that can effortlessly take you from a casual daytime outfit to an elegant evening look.

The Agnes Jacket from Chalk is crafted in the most cosy teddy/borg style fabric that is a huge trend for the coming season, or go for the Daisy Gilet which we adore!

Cardigans are also a popular choice for easy layering, the Cassidy Cardigan from Parisienne Collection is perfect for draping over shirts or long sleeve tops for that touch of extra warmth. We also love the beautiful new wool throwovers from One Hundred Stars, they are perfect for adding a layer of warmth and a touch of sophistication to your outfit. The Thess collection from Object is always popular as they are a beautiful, soft, fine knit, making them ideal for this time of year. Our favourite is the Thess Cardigan in Desert Taupe, perfect for popping over your shoulders when wearing an autumnal dress or pretty blouse.

Our Autumn/Winter collection also features some gorgeous basics that are perfect for adding that extra layer under your favourite knit or dress. Some of our favourites include the Pylle T Shirts from Soya Concept and Million Tops from Vero Moda which are super soft and available in a range of colours. Layering with a shirt can really elevate a daytime outfit, we love the Bimini shirt from Part Two as it is a classic, timeless piece that will be so versatile in your wardrobe.

Tonal dressing is a huge trend for Autumn/Winter 24, mirroring the changing colours of nature at this time. You can reflect this by pairing elegant classic neutral hues with darker khaki and berry tones to create a sophisticated look.

We are in love with the new Siham Pants from Soya Concept in a rich Olive green, perfect for pairing with a cosy knit like the gorgeous Morgan Top from Chalk. For outerwear, the Olilas Coat from Part Two adds warmth but without feeling bulky. The design elements are what make this coat so special, beautiful stitching detail, tortoiseshell buttons, two big front pockets and diamond quilting throughout.

Mastering the art of transitional, tonal dressing within a capsule wardrobe will elevate your style and make getting dressed each day an absolute joy! Just remember to embrace layers, mix and match with intention, and experiment with tonal colours.
